Bus Connections:

Coastal Link — Take the bus to the stop at CT Route 1 and Sherwood Island Connector then use the Wheels 2U Westport app to get a ride.


Commuter Lot Connections:

Park at Sherwood Island Connector Park & Ride Lot on CT Route 476 (North of Greens Farms Rd) then use the Wheels 2U Westport app to get a ride.


MetroNorth Rail Connections:

Saugatuck Station, Westport — Take the train to Saugatuck Station then use the Wheels 2U Westport app to get a ride.

Greens Farms Station, Westport — Take the train to Greens Farms Station then use the Wheels 2U Westport app to get a ride.


Other Connections:

What is ParkConnect?

ParkConnect is a free shuttle service to and from Sherwood Island State Park operated by Wheels 2U Westport and Norwalk Transit District. Anyone in the service area in Westport, Connecticut, can travel to and from Sherwood Island State Park. Download the app and try it out. 

Where does it run?

There isn’t a specific route like a traditional bus. You download the app and request a ride. The shuttle bus will then pick you up at your location and take you to Sherwood Island State Park. You can only ride to and from Sherwood Island State Park.

When should I request a ride?

We recommend requesting a ride approximately 20 minutes in advance of the time you'd like to get to Sherwood Island. Once your ride is booked, you will receive an estimated time of arrival at your location and be able to see the shuttle bus in real time on the app, as it approaches. After you use this service a few times, you will be able to refine this estimated lead time based on your own experience. 

When does it run?

ParkConnect operates on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, from 9 AM - 6 PM.

It's free!

Is it accessible to people with disabilities?

Yes! Our shuttle buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and drivers are trained at helping people with disabilities.

Who operates the service?

ParkConnect to Sherwoood Island is operated by Norwalk Transit District through a partnership with Westport Transit District. This free service is made possible by funding from the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
